Streamlining Your DIMO Fleet Onboarding

Onboarding your fleet has never been easier with DIMO. Our top priority is providing you, our valuable customer, with a straightforward and efficient experience. We understand that fleet management can be complex, which is why we've outlined a few simple steps to make your journey with us hassle-free and tailored to your needs.


Overview of Options 

Pre-Pairing: Pre-pair devices to your account so you earn rewards even when another person installs the device(s).

Numerous fleet owners prefer to send a device to the driver or vehicle owner for installation but also desire to earn DIMO rewards. These rewards are credited to the account that possesses the DIMO device. Therefore, if you register the device with your account beforehand, the installer can access the vehicle data, and you’ll receive the rewards.

This is the ideal setup for host patrons because the Patron can own the devices and none of the data. You can earn your rewards and send devices over to hosts for them to install their devices. 

VIN Registration: Pre-registering VINs for faster device installation 

To speed up the installation process and prevent any problems, it's best to pre-register the VIN before installing a DIMO device. The device includes a VIN checking system that confirms proper installation and ensures data accuracy during operation. It's important to note that the VIN reading process during installation may take some time, and pre-registering your VIN makes it quicker. 

This is the ideal setup for fleet operators who own all their vehicles and need to access all their data. 

Both: VIN Registration + Pre-pairing

Both are possible! For the most efficient onboarding process, we can pre-pair your device & pre-register your VIN. This will allow for a smoothest onboarding process for fleet operators who want to hit the ground running.

How Pre-Pairing Works

Customer

  1. Create a DIMO account by downloading DIMO Mobile. 
  2. Send your DIMO wallet address, a unique identifier for your DIMO account, and order number to [email protected] or the sales team member you are already in contact with. Here is a guide for you to learn how to view your wallet 

DIMO Customer Success

  1. The Customer Success team will take your submitted information and perform the pre-pairing. This usually takes 2-3 days, and we aim to have this done before devices are even delivered. 
  2. Once complete, we will reach out to you via email to confirm services were performed successfully. 

Customer

  1. Install the devices or ship the devices to your installer. 
  2. Your installer will also need to download the DIMO Mobile app and should follow the instructions for installing the device. They will be allowed to skip the device pairing step since that has already been performed. 
  3. You can check to see that the device is successfully installed by checking your mobile apps fleet tab or by going to DIMOBuddy.com and signing in.


How VIN Registration Works

Customer

  1. Create a DIMO account by downloading DIMO Mobile. 
  2. Fill out this spreadsheet: VIN Registration Sheet.xlsx
  3. Send it to [email protected] or the sales team member you are already in contact with.

DIMO Customer Success

  1. The Customer Success team will take your submitted information and perform the VIN registration
  2. Once complete, we will reach out to you via email to confirm services were performed successfully. 

Customer

  1. Install the devices or ship the devices to your installer. 
  2. If you are using an installer, they will also need to download the DIMO Mobile app and should follow the instructions for installing the device. 
  3. You will bypass the device pairing step as well as the VIN checking step.
  4. You can check to see that the device is successfully installed by checking your mobile apps fleet tab or by going to DIMOBuddy.com and signing in.
